Did You Miss The Burger Battle?
Last week the Scottsdale League For The Arts put on another amazing tasty culinary event. The 2019 Four Peaks Burger Battle at the Scottsdale Waterfront could not have gone any better.
The Perfect Ambiance
As typical in Scottsdale in March, the weather was perfect. If you have never been here during Spring, you’re missing out. It coincided with the last weekend of Spring Training so everyone was out and about. With great music from The Walkens, who really lit up the place, the Scottsdale Waterfront was gorgeous.
The Perfect Hosts
If you have never been to one of the Scottsdale League for the Arts events they are Arizona’s Tastiest Fundraisers. So you may have missed Cooks and Corks….. and Brunch with Benefits….. and Scottsdale Burger Battle but, don’t fear! You have another chance with the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. But first let me tell you about Burger Battle.
The Burger Battle Scene
So you walk in and you can already hear the voices of happy eaters mixed with the great music of the Walkens. You’re by the water, which in Scottsdale means a canal, haha but it’s still super pretty. As soon as you get near the event that fabulous aromas of great food and open fire pits hit you. Every restaurant was staffed by helpful and joyful people ready to serve you a tasty delight.
The Goodies
The judges had a difficult task trying to determine which burger was their favorite because all the chefs brought out some amazing creations. Whiskey burgers, candied bacon, drunken habanero, Kobe beef, brisket, jalapeno jam, brioche buns, salted caramel, goat cheese, prosciutto, brisket dogs, twice baked fries, sriracha ketchup… I mean, if someone thought about putting it on a burger, it was there.
The Best Burger
In my mind, there was no clear winner because every item at Burger Battle was amazing. My personal favorite was Zuzu’s burger but coming in super close is Aioli’s who won the people’s choice award. AGAIN. Honorable mentions was EVERYONE. Even though Four Peaks was a big part of the event because beer and burgers go together like baseball and hot dogs, they were kind enough to supply us with sparkling wine in a can by Babe and Core water was available for the asking!
Everyone Was Happy
I have included a lot of photos to give you an idea of the vibe. But, for once, don’t focus on the food, but look at how happy everyone was in the photos. This was a great event and not one to miss.
