The goal of DIG is to tell you about local people, places and things that you may not have discovered on your own. LOCAL Bistro is one of those places you MUST GO. Local is located at Thomas Peak and North Hayden in North Scottsdale and they do everything well. They have TVs over the bar so you can watch some sports or your favorite golf tournament. The kitchen is always innovative and the service is fantastic. The bartenders are on point. The daily specials are exciting and innovative.
In the winter Local opens the windows wide and you get fresh air and sunshine while sitting at the bar sipping your cocktails. It’s a lively crowd of mostly people who live in North Scottsdale or are staying at nearby hotels like Troon, Boulders or the Princess.
Not only does Local do great food, but they have a fantastic happy hour menu and, just like we like, a reverse happy hour as well. Their happy hour is 2pm-6pm every day and the reverse happy hour is 9pm to close. You definitely want reservations here during the busy season but if you just were driving by and decided to check it out, you can always mingle at the bar.
If the party is still going but Local is closing, follow many of the other patrons as they walk across the parking lot to a favorite local “dive” bar Juan Jamie’s.
