Understanding More About The People’s Open

If you want a complete guide to what to do and how to do it check out How To Do Waste Management Phoenix Open. We have also created a guide on Where To Eat During the Phoenix Open.

It doesn’t matter if golf isn’t your thing, the Phoenix Open is about so much more than just golf.  It is a week long party on a golf course.  WMPO is also a place to see and be seen.  Wear your best golf outfits or coordinate with your squad to really stand out.

Get Your Party On

Sometimes referred to as Mardi Gras on a golf course, visitors flock to Scottsdale from all over the world to participate and watch WMPO located in North Scottsdale on the TPC golf course.  You’ll want to check out the SkyBox at hole 16, Grounds Keepers and, of course, the Bird’s Nest nightly for live music. Drink early and drink often but don’t drink and drive!

This is an annual event that raises money for local charities and starts on Monday and ends on Superbowl Sunday.  The weather is sometimes tricky, you can usually count on one day of rain but it doesn’t deter the 600,000+ people that attend every year.

Happy Hours & Food

There are plenty of great places to eat all over Scottsdale but do check out the happy hours near #WMPO and places to go near the Fairmont Princess. This year for some reason Uber/Lyft aren’t allowed pick up and drop off at #thepeoplesopen but instead, you have to go to Westworld and then shuttle in like prisoners…. ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration but it’s still not ideal. You may want to check out K O’Donnell’s party bus for a more enjoyable alternative.
